Tom Teodosijev

Tom a photographer has used still life photography and the contents of storage drawers to try and record something of his father. He says "Can you capture the soul of a beloved one"

In MY FATHER’S MEMORIES cycle, the author has attempted to capture the very essence of his father’s existence, of his moods and states of mind. He wanted to use the means of photographic expression freely and therefore he decided NOT to deploy the usual portrait or documentary photographs. And only then was he able to express without any limitations how he sees his father.

Apart and or Together Collections of objects The Burning House Edexcel GCSE 2015

Grouping objects that are connected in someway together to create an image that could be photographed or drawn or painted

If your house suddenly caught on fire, what would you grab as you fled out the door? That's precisely the question Foster Huntington asked himself

This started as a website and became a book. People are asked to group together the objects they would save from a burning building and submit the photo of the collection and an explanation of why those objects are significant

Apart and or Together Imaginative reflections Edexcel GCSE 2015

Tom Hussey Photographer

These images are part of a series of photos created for an advertisement for medication to help people suffering from Alzheimers. Alzheimers is a condition where recent memories are stripped away leaving the sufferer left with memories of their youth. So we the mirror used as a way of showing how the person sees themselves, in contrast to how they appear to those around them.

You can find lots of artists and photographers using image manipulation software like photoshop to play with reflections in mirrors, but this is the most striking and  effective I have seen.

You could have a go yourself using two photographs of reflections in a mirror using photoshop, the hard edges of the mirror makes fitting together the two different images fairly easy. You could create an image that looks at differences between how we see ourselves and how we are seen by others
