Bas Relief / Low Relief Sculpture

Paul Day contemporary Sculptor who has produced a series of monumental sculptural pieces sited in London

Meeting Point sited on the upper level at St Pancras Station in London
The main section of the sculpture is the pair of figures
Beneath the figures is a circular frieze that goes around the base, Made in clay and cast into metal this is a Bas Relief with elements of high relief on a sculptural mural of scenes that relate to the station.

The level of detail is incredible but look at how he has suggested a photographic or paintly sense of distance in what is bas relief or almost flat sculpture
